Who owns the data

You do. Veldlock processes your permit records on your behalf, under a written agreement with you. South Africa's POPIA calls this an "operator"; UK GDPR calls it a "processor".

Separation

Each customer is its own site, on its own web address, with its own data and its own sign-ins. One customer's people can't see another customer's records.

Integrity

Permit records are append-only. Every action is added to the permit's history and chained to the one before it, and every sign-off is timestamped and tied to a named person.

The app checks that chain and flags any record that has been altered, so the history is tamper-evident.

Where it's hosted

Currently in the EU. We're moving to South African hosting and can discuss timing.

Access

Everyone signs in as themselves. Field staff use phone sign-in, and site administrators use passkeys.

Export

You can export your permit register and print any permit's full report at any time.
